Fort Wayne Regional Maker Faire is a family-friendly event to MAKE, create, learn, invent, craft, recycle, think, play and be inspired by celebrating arts, crafts, engineering, food, music, science and technology.
October 6th & 7th, 2012 at beautiful Headwaters Park East at the Lincoln Pavilion, 333 S. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
FWR Maker Faire celebrates things people create themselves — from James Bond-worthy electronic gizmos to Martha Stewart-quality "slow made" foods and homemade clothes. Inspiration is ubiquitous at the festival and there are surprises around every corner for people of all ages.

Questions about Tickets:
How do I get my tickets once I have purchased them online?
Tickets purchased on-line, will receive an email confirmation with a link to print your eTickets from your computer.
I did not receive an email confirmation when I ordered my tickets, what should I do?
Check your spam or gray mail folder, in case it was misdirected. If you are unable to find it, contact info@tekventure.org to have it resent. Please include the name and email address used to order the tickets.
I am not able to print my tickets, what should I do?
Adobe has a site which reviews the common issues with printing .pdf files

If this article doesn't help to resolve the issue, please let us know. We can send you the .pdf as an email attachment rather than having you access the ticket from the link in the email. And of course, if that doesn't work, we can print the tickets and get them to you by another means. Please feel free to reach us at info@tekventure.org.
The tickets have my name but I want to give them as a gift, donate, etc., can the be used by someone else?
Yes, the tickets are transferrable. The name on the ticket does not need to be the ticket holder at the gate. If you would like to have the name on the ticket changed or removed, please let us know at info@tekventure.org, and we will update the tickets on your behalf.

Where can I park?
If coming by car, please view map for public parking near Headwaters Park East - Lincoln Pavilion, 333 S. Clinton St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802. Parking is $4 in nearest public parking lot (#10 on map.)
Where is the handicap parking located?
Handicap parking is available in nearest public parking lots.
Is public transportation available?
Yes. Visit www.fwcitilink.com for public bus routes.
Is there a secure place for my bicycle?
Yes. An on-site Bike Valet will be operated by the City of Fort Wayne Trails Department.
Can I buy Tickets On-site?
Yes. Tickets can be purchased on-site at Maker Faire
Ticket booths open at 10:00 am - Saturday, Oct. 6 and 11:00 am - Sunday. Oct. 7
Credit Cards (MasterCard/VISA/Discover) and cash accepted
Will there be ATM machines on-site?
No. ATM machines will NOT be available on-site, however there are several in downtown Fort Wayne within walking distance. To avoid waiting in line, it is best to bring cash for entrance fees, food and select event activities.
Can I volunteer at Maker Faire?
Yes. We welcome volunteer participation at Maker Faire. We believe our volunteers make a valuable contribution to the success of Maker Faire! Visit www.makerfairefortwayne.com to learn more about volunteer positions and how you can register to volunteer and contribute to the success of Maker Faire.
Will there be food on-site?
Yes. You will find a wide variety of food options for purchase at Maker Faire. Outside food or beverages are not permitted through the gates unless you have special medical dietary requirements.
Do you have overnight rooms reserved?
Yes. A block of rooms are reserved at the Hampton Inn Fort Wayne Southwest. Special room rates available through September 22.
Will you have recycling this year?
Yes. Recycling bins will be available.
Can we bring strollers?
Yes.
Are backpacks allowed?
Yes, you can bring in a backpack but you are responsible for it and its contents. Just remember, no food or bottles. There will be on-site security.
Can we bring dogs?
No. For the safety and well being of our four-legged friends, please leave your pets at home. There are loud noises, many moveable parts, fire elements, and large crowds, all of which do not create a safe environment for pets.
What if it rains?
The show will go on! Rain or Shine. No Refunds/Exchanges. Tickets cannot be replaced.
Bring rain gear to keep you dry when walking outdoors and layer-up if its cold.
What can I expect?
To have a fantastic time! You'll be surprised and intrigued with every corner that you turn.

About TekVenture, Incorporated:
TekVenture is a 501(c)(3) organization working to develop a public art and technology lab in the near downtown Fort Wayne area. TekVenture's mission is to be a place where the public will engage with tools, materials, and mentors to make things.

Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.
The original Maker Faire event was heldin San Mateo, CA and in 2012 celebrated its seventh annual show with some 800 makers and 110,000 people in attendance. World Maker Faire New York, the other flagshipevent, has grown in three years to 500+ makers and 55,000 attendees. Detroit, Kansas City, Newcastle (UK), and Tokyo are the home of “featured” Maker Faires (200+ makers), and community-driven, independently organized Mini Maker Faires are now being produced around the United States and the world—including right here in Fort Wayne.
MAKE is the first magazine devoted entirely to Do-It-Yourself (DIY) technology projects. MAKE unites, inspires, informs, and entertains a growing community of resourceful people who undertake amazing projects in their backyards, basements, and garages.
